Computer Security.
User Names and Passwords
Establishing a user name is not as critical of an issue as the
password. Passwords must not contain just common dictionary
words. We require a combination of words, numbers and punctuation in passwords.
*Never give out your user name and password to anyone.*
You will be assigned a Mohawk Password. Should you dislike, forget, or otherwise want to change Passwords, contact the office during business hours.
Print a copy of your information and keep it in your files in a prudently secure location. You should write a "hint" about your password and tape it under your computer or monitor.
NOTE: Passwords will not be changed unless requested in normal business hours for obvious security reasons.
You can safeguard you personal information by taking a few simple steps.
Computer Viruses
Install virus detection software on your pc, this is a
must do! There are several on the market. Be sure to Update Virus Definitons often!
Stay informed about the latest virus threats. A good souce
of information is the
Norton
Security Response site. Or there is the Sophos Web Site that has information about different virus threats, hoaxes and email scams.
Microsoft Windows Users
Make sure that you keep your computer up to date with the latest
service packs or patches. Those using Internet Explorer can
go to Tools from the top menu and click on Product Updates.

(UNIX) machine running the Apache.
What version of Perl are you running?
Perl version 5.005 or later
What is the path to the Perl interpreter?
/usr/bin/perl
How do I define the path to my scripts or my base directory?
Typically, most scripts will run using: /home/username/cgi-bin/scriptfolder
What is the path to sendmail?
/usr/sbin/sendmail
